La Barge And The Life I’m Living
I was born and raised in LaBarge, Wyoming to Ron and Ann Alexander. With both of my parents being outdoor enthusiast, I was able to learn and appreciate the outdoors at a very early age. Every summer we would spend many weekends camping and fishing all around western Wyoming and then my favorite season would arrive, Fall. Even before I was old enough to hunt myself, I would go with my parents, uncles, grandpa and cousins. I have more memories than I can mention of all those hunting trips for antelope, deer, and elk.
Once I was old enough to hunt myself, I was instantly interested in archery. I took my first Pope and Young antelope with a bow at the age of 16. Since then I have had the opportunity to harvest several more animals with my bow. In high school, I had two really close friends that I spent most of my time hunting and many adventures with. Due to hunting, I believe is why we are still great friends and hunting partners to this day. After high school, my friends and I went off to college and other endeavors and I sorted lost my hunting partners for a time. At this point is when my brother Ray Alexander and I really started hunting hard and heavy together. Since then my brother and I have taken many deer, elk, antelope and one year we both drew a Shiras moose tags in the same area in the same year.
My brother is the one who got me into the sport of filming our hunts. When we originally started filming our hunts, it was so we could relive our adventures from home. After all, we spent so much time in the outdoors, why not? Shortly after starting to film ourselves, we were invited by Mike Schmid to the Solitude Ranch to hunt whitetail deer. While we were at the ranch, we had the opportunity and pleasure to meet the Bob Lott. We immediately hit it off with Bob and he started giving us pointers on filming and hunting. Since forging a friendship with Bob, I have also had the privilege of meeting many other great people thru hunting adventures. I hope to create many more friendships and have many more adventures in the future.
To me hunting is not just about the kill. The kill is just an added bonus. The best part to me is the opportunity to spend time in the outdoors, experience things that most people just see on TV or dream about. I also enjoy experiencing these adventures with friends and family.
