Family and the Outdoors it's a great mix,

I have been lucky enough to grow up in the small town of LaBarge, Wyoming. This area has provided me and many others excellent hunting and fishing opportunities just out the back door. For as long as I can remember I have been around hunting. Whether I was packing the BB gun hunting gophers when I was at a young age or packing a bow and arrow chasing an elk around, I love being in the great outdoors. I can remember Mom and Dad always taking me on their hunting excursions. One of my earliest memories was antelope hunting with them. I can remember the smell of an antelope that they had harvested not being the best smell. Now I can’t wait to be out stalking those speed goats around, it doesn’t matter the weapon or the animal I love to hunt. I have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time in the field in recent years with my fiancée (Amy Smith) and my brother John and a lot of great friends. It is such a great way to spend time with friends and family. The memories created are for a lifetime, whether it’s running up on the hill after work for a quick evening hunt, spending a week in the backcountry or taking somebody new to the field regardless of how successful the hunt turns out.

My passion is bowhunting, I started with a stick bow at young age and form then on I’ve been trying to get close enough to get that one shot. It doesn’t get much better than having a screaming bull elk at 20 yards. I have been lucky enough to have harvested deer, elk, mountain lion, moose, and multiple antelope with my bow as well as many animals with my rifle.

When I went to college in Laramie, WY I started shooting competitive archery. My senior year of college I started shooting down at the local pro shop. After getting to know the locals and participating in the local shots I decided to go to the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas in 2005. As luck and a whole lot of practice would have it I placed 1st in the Bowhunter Freestyle Flights division. The same year I went Louisville, KY to the Indoor Nationals and placed 9th in the Adult Male Bowhunter Freestyle division. I have since been competing in many 3d shoots and indoor shoots. Competitive archery was a lot fun, I met a lot of great people along the way and it was a great way to shoot year round.

I am relatively new outdoor filming, but it has been a lot of fun. It has brought a new element to fair chase hunting. Mike Schmid had invited me to his ranch to do some whitetail hunting where I met Bob Lott. This is when I was really introduced to outdoor filming. He provided me with many tips to be able to capture those priceless moments in the field. Since then I have been trying to catch all my hunts and others hunts on camera.
