My name is Jim Sessions and I currently live up the Greybull River from the small town of Meeteetse, Wyoming. This location affords me the opportunity to observe and film a wide variety of wildlife including whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, moose, grizzly, bighorn sheep and many other species.
The wildlife videography we incorporate into Intrepid Outdoors is a direct result of living right among the many animals we film and hunt. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Intrepid Outdoors team. The people we have assembled to host and pro staff the team bring many different perspectives to the show.
I have been involved in the outdoor television/ video business at some level for 12+ years. During this time my fulltime professional career was in the Parks and Recreation field. I attended the University of Wyoming and received a Bachelor of Science degree in the Parks and Recreation Administration. I was able to expose a number of young people to the outdoors via extended pack trips into the Wind River Range of western, Wyoming. Many other trips were also taken into many mountain ranges, rivers and lakes.
The whole Intrepid Outdoors team feels the future of hunting, fishing and related activities rests with our generation. We don't just talk about the importance of getting young people outdoors, we DO IT! This is reflected in our "Get A Child In The Wild" segment featured in every episode of Intrepid Outdoors. This segment highlights young people getting out and experiencing the REAL feelings associated with landing a wild trout, bagging their first big game animal or just seeing a mature whitetail buck ghosting through a creek bottom.
The Intrepid Outdoors Team is excited to bring our viewers shows that are both entertaining and informational. We emphasis the self-guided hunts and public land opportunities. The over the shoulder videography places you the viewer on the hunt. We will not fill our show with a bunch of small talk telling you we are the Experts on western big game and then introduce you to our outfitter. We let our videography tell the story and brand the show with awesome wildlife shots of these animals doing what comes natural. We will be going on adventures with some outfitters and provide you with solid information pertaining to their operation.
Many people ask, what is your dream hunt? I have no favorite animal, each big game species is unique in it's own way. I pity the poor souls that can think of nothing but mule deer or elk or whitetail. They are missing out on the diversity we are so fortunate to have available. My ultimate adventure is to have a tag in my pocket, load up a pack string of solid mountain horses/mules and head into timberline country I have never seen. These types of adventures are the pinnacles of big game hunting. This type of hunt pits you against the mountain and elements and ultimately judges if you have the skills to kill your quarry.
