In the Field

We at Intrepid Outdoors believe strongly that the oil and gas industry has been getting a bad reputation. The combination of misinformation from Anti Development Groups and very little positive information from the Operators themselves has had a negative effect. We are working very hard to correct that problem by getting information out to the public.

With this in mind, I would like to ask for your help. With your permission, I would like to conduct interviews with some of your people in the field with the focus on those that work and observe wildlife on a daily basis – people who are avid hunters and fishermen and true advocates of the outdoors.

Intrepid Outdoors is original because there are two segments incorporated into each episode. Our “Get a Child in the Wild” segment consists of one of our pro staff showcasing a hunt with someone from our younger generation. The second segment, “In the Field: Images of America’s Energy Resources,” features men and women who work in the oil and gas industry advocating the sound development of America’s natural resources.

I hope to interview individuals from the Upper Green River Basin of Wyoming and those working in the Uintah Basin of Utah and the Piceance Basin of Colorado. The footage will be sent to our editor for preliminary editing and formatting and a copy of the footage sent to you for your review. After you’ve had a chance to look at the footage and if you find this is something you would like to pursue, we can then visit you about becoming a sponsor for the show. I believe, and I think you will agree, that we have the right demographics to advance our message in a way that is more effective and far reaching than ever before.

Intrepid Outdoors is rapidly growing in both popularity and depth of programming. We need assistance of outside sources to keep our show on the air, and prefer that this come from the oil and gas industry – as this is where we got our start. We care a great deal about the reputation of our industry and need your help to promote it in a positive manner and to combat the influx of the radical propaganda that is showing up everywhere. We realize that economic conditions are tough right now for everyone. But this is also a time of great opportunity to dispel many misunderstandings that are so common about the oilfield. If passed over, this opportunity might not come our way again for a very long time.

We’d appreciate any input and would be happy to hear from you. Go to our "Contact" page and give us a call or send us an email. Thanks for taking the time to view our website.

Sincerely, Mike Schmid
